How do we create in times of chaos? Can disaster and distress actually be a help, or even a precursor, to creative endeavour? Tanya Marlow, author of Those Who Wait and lecturer in pastoral theology, combined her training in counselling and English literature in showing us how to harness our emotions in creativity. She covered memoir-writing and how doing mindfulness exercises can help us to write emotionally honest characters in fiction and creative non-fiction, and how our creative process mirrors the creative process of God.
